ISB Night 2018Investing in Our Children: Learning, Teaching, Campus
On 21 April, 230 members of the ISB community gathered at Concert Noble to celebrate the 10th ISB Night gala and auction. ISB Night raised over 90,000 euros all in support of learning, teaching and campus projects around the school. Thanks to all of our community members who attended the event, donated auction items, performed, made donations and volunteered - all of these investments in our children made a difference!
To kick off the evening ISB Night guests enjoyed exploring the splendor the historic Concert Noble venue while perusing the silent auction tables. This year's silent auction featured a new bidding app that allowed guests to bid on items directly from their smartphones. It proved to be a lot of fun for guests and allowed for people who could not attend to get in on the bidding! BBC's Charlie Ross, now a staple of the ISB Night live auction, was back once again as our energetic auctioneer. The live auction highlights included fine wine, holiday packages, private concerts and one-of-a-kind experiences.
Our community then showed it's generosity by making donations in support of ISB. These donations, along with all proceeds from ISB Night 2018, will be invested in today's ISB students, priorities, and future success. Some examples of how this year's proceeds will be invested include:
- Creating an ISB-owned and managed inventory of musical instruments, so that all of our grade 5 and grade 6 students have better access to musical learning opportunities
- Support for 2017 Summer Institutes for teacher professional development
- Investment in the renovation and redesign of the ISB Libraries, to achieve a more learning-oriented environment
The remainder of the evening was spent dancing the night away, or connecting with old and new ISB friends. Photos of ISB Night 2018 can be found here. Our gratitude to everyone who was part of this entertaining and inspiring evening.
