ISB Futures Spotlight - College and Careers Counselling at ISB

#5 College and Careers Counselling at ISB

All students at ISB from Grades 10 to 12 are supported by a dedicated team of college and careers counsellors. ISB counsellors advocate for students from the beginning to the end of the application process by:

  • Guiding students both individually and a series of workshops and seminars;
  • Organising university information evenings for students and parents throughout the entire year, run by members of our team or guest speakers;
  • Inviting university admissions representatives to visit ISB from a wide range of universities and colleges around the world;
  • Keeping students and parents updated with information relevant to the high school-to-university transition and careers.

Areas of development for the 2021-22 school year will include:

  • An expanded team of counsellors, increasing from three counsellors to four (33% increase) and working more closely with 9th grade students as well as high school students.
  • Welcoming a new Head of College and Career Counselling, Catherine Irvine, who has worked at two leading international schools in Hong Kong and will bring a wealth of experience to ISB.
  • Welcoming a new Head of High School, who also has had experience as a College Counsellor.
  • Continuing to proactively build partnerships and relationships with universities, colleges and employers around the world.
