What is GIVING TUESDAY?

GIVING TUESDAY is an international day to celebrate all kinds of giving, be it for your school, university, your club, your favourite charity or individual cause. ISB has joined this global movement to celebrate giving and the generosity we have as a community who care not only for enhancing our school but for supporting our local community and others as well. Over 100 countries are involved in this global movement and ISB was the the first school in Belgium to take on the initiative in 2018.

"'Giving Tuesday' was a perfect day; your students are really amazing. The idea of teaching them to Think Global and Act Local is really great."

Cynthia Simpson, Solidarite Grands Froids

On #GivingTuesday, ISB celebrates all different kinds of giving: from giving time and talent as a volunteer or mentor, to monetary gifts as a donor, to acts of service and exploring the nature of giving, generosity and philanthropy.

During Giving Tuesday 2019, ISB students, parents, employees, and alumni, collected hundreds of pairs of gloves, hats, scarves, socks, and bars of chocolates and created over 450 warm winter kits, which were handed out to the homeless of Brussels. There was an opportunity for everyone to share a message around their personal giving experience.

I give because I can.
I give because I want to give.
I give because of my responsibility as an international citizen.
