At ISB, our students tell the story of our school. They are at the heart of everything that we do, and they carry our legacy with them into the world. Together, we have embarked on a journey to make learning more personal, meaningful, and exciting than ever before. Together, we are committed to making every learner feel as included, challenged, and successful as they can be.

This is the place where we reach our highest dreams. This is more than a school. This is ISB.

This place is our home, and for so long it has been a home to generations of students and families from all over the world.

Securing our home forever

As a school, we have always felt incredibly fortunate to be able to learn and grow in such safe and beautiful surroundings. When our long-term lease was signed back in 1953, 70 years ago, there were few other buildings on campus besides the iconic Château des Fougères, known affectionately to our community as the Château. Over the course of these seven decades, this place has evolved to become so much more than the facilities or learning environments that are now such an integral part of ISB. This place is our home, and for so long it has been a home to generations of students and families from all over the world.

Ensuring ownership of the land that provides your children, our students, with such a unique environment for learning has been a pursuit of successive Boards and Leadership Teams for many decades. Today, we are delighted to share the news that our campus - our home - is officially ours, 13 years ahead of the expiration of our lease. This wonderful development means that we will no longer be paying for a lease which, over time, would have incurred significantly higher costs for the school than the cost of the investment we have made in purchasing the land. We are therefore pleased that the financing of the land purchase is comparable to our current leasing expenses.

We are also thrilled to finally be in a position where we have the freedom and security to move forward with a campus development plan that will ensure we not only maintain our high level of educational quality at ISB, but can invest in resources that help to continually improve the learning experience for every child. The purchase of the land now allows us to develop and restructure the School, sure in the knowledge that we are in full control of our destiny.

With our annual Homecoming celebrations just around the corner, it is extra special to be able to share this significant milestone with all of you. We are confident we have embarked on an exciting new journey together that will not only establish our school in the long-term horizon, but will secure a stable and successful future for generations of ISB students to come.
