Since 1980, ISB has been accredited by the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools and by the Council of International Schools.
There is ample evidence indicating ISB is a very inclusive and international school, one that truly advocates for all children and genuinely endorses the notion of student wellbeing and agency.
These aspects of the school’s guiding statements seems to be fairly well realized and, indeed, ISB continues to be well respected throughout the world for taking a lead role in fulfilling these components.

At the heart of ISB’s evolution over the years has been a question about direction and purpose; a question that, this year, found expression in the phrase, “What should school be for?”
The answer to this question is not an easy one. However, as we look back upon the 2018-19 school year, we discover that it was a question that found expression in so many moments around our campus; a question that both challenged and engaged students, parents, employees and members of our alumni community alike.
