Women 4 Women: A Night 4 Bosnia

We’re Women for Women and we're back! This year we're stepping it up a notch from the traditional fashion show of yesteryear.

Come listen to Dalija Hasanbegovic, news presenter and correspondent for Al Jazeera Balkans. recount stories from her career as well our own faculty member Dzenana Kurtovic recall her personal experience during the Bosnian conflict.

Marvel at the creativity of our club members during the fashion showcase, after which you'll have the opportunity to bid on designs and support the cause.

Enjoy refreshments and homemade goods at our cocktail party where you'll have a chance to talk with Dalija in person. There we'll host a silent auction featuring a selection of pieces made by our members and other wonderful resources, ranging from one-of-a-kind designs to traditional Bosnian artwork.

Dalija Hasanbegovic biography:

Dalija Hasanbegovic started her journalism career in Bosnia, on one of the local private TV channels her freshmen year of college. She started from basics as an assistant current affairs producer and as she was discovering her love and talent for journalism she was working her way up. As a part of her academic and professional advancement she continued her studies and work in the USA where she worked for the journalism legend Peter Jennings and his World News Tonight with Peter Jennings. Dalija is a recipient of very prestigious both US and UK scholarships, has a MSc degree in Social Psychology from London School of Economics and is currently working toward her PhD in Social Psycholgy. Prior to returning home to Sarajevo and joining Al Jazeera Balkans is was heading the Business Development Department of Viola Communications Holding in United Arab Emirates. Dalija has been with Al Jazeera Balkans from its first initial stages and cherishes deeply that fact. Among the prominent people Dalija has interviewed so far are Angelina Jolie, A.R. Rahman, Thorbjorn Jagland, Sami al-Haj.
